Shared Security Grants (SCPP Round 3) application

The Queensland Government’s $40 million Secure Communities Partnership Program (SCPP) supports safer and more secure environments for small and family businesses through investment in practical safety and security infrastructure. The program aims to reduce crime and antisocial behaviour, improve business confidence and create safer places for business owners, employees and customers.

The Shared Security Grants, providing competitive funding of between $20,000 (ex GST) and $200,000 (ex GST) for larger security projects that help protect groups of small and family businesses located within neighbourhood shopping centres, industrial estates and local business precincts.

Up to $20 million is available across Round 3, shared between Small Business Security Grants and Shared Security Grants. Funding will be allocated for each grant pathway subject to application demand, project quality and available program funding.

The Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB, we) administers the program.

💰 About the funding

  • Funding is limited and competitive: Applying does not guarantee a grant. We assess eligible applications against the published criteria after applications close.

  • How we assess: Security benefits to small businesses (40%), project design, deliverability and applicant capability (30%), and value for money (30%).

  • Co-contribution: You must pay at least 50% of the total eligible project cost, all ineligible costs and any eligible costs above your approved grant amount. Eligible project costs must be at least $40,000, excluding GST.

  • Payment: We pay grants in three milestones:

    • Milestone 1 (20%): On approval of your application and acceptance of Funding Agreement.

    • Milestone 2 (40%): On completion and assessment of a progress report.

    • Milestone 3 (40%): On project completion and assessment of an acquittal report.

📅 Important dates

  • Applications open: 9am, 23 October 2026.

  • Applications close: 5pm, 29 January 2027.

ℹ️ Before you begin

  • Set aside time: Completing the form takes approximately 60 minutes. Allow extra time to fix any errors before the closing time.

  • Choose the right grant: Shared Security Grants fund projects with a shared benefit for multiple small businesses. If you want security improvements for your own business only, apply for Small Business Security Grants (Secure Communities Partnership Program Round 3) instead.

  • Check eligibility: Use the eligibility check on the Shared Security Grants (Secure Communities Partnership Program Round 3) page.

  • Prepare attachments: Gather your documents, including a witnessed 100-points-of-identification check form, supplier quotes and any owner or body corporate consent. Property owners also need evidence of group turnover. The program guidelines list them all.

    • File size: Keep each file under 25MB. Files under 5MB upload faster.

    • One at a time: Wait for each file to finish uploading before you attach another.
